I. Introduction and Tips

How to Behave as Meepo

Meepo is a carry hero, so brace yourself for some boring farming. And you must farm a lot if you want to be somewhat effective and won't be able to do almost anything else until you have some gear. But, unlike other carry heroes, you level up like mad by microing your clones to different spots or lanes and farm fast also. You need to be twice to four time more careful not to be ganked, though.

Tips and Tricks

Blink and Poof

Not as simple as it looks, that's how you do it:

1- Get your main Meepo and him alone, move him to where he will blink from.
2- Blink next to your target, Earthbind the area and Poof to himself.
3- Press F2 and F for the second Meepo to Poof, now left click the first Meepo in his hero portrait (top left of the screen) and Shift + E to Earthbind the area you Earthbinded with your first Meepo.
4- Repeat with F3 F Shift E, F4 F Click Shift E Click.
5- (Activate Pipe and) Attack.

Pratice in single player, this is a bit hard to do. You may want to save some Earthbinds for later, so you don't need to cast it with the #2 and #4 Meepos if you're fast enough for the first and third Earthbind not to expire while you're microing your other Meepos.

Selecting all your Meepos and having your first Meepo to blink + Earthbind + Poof then spam TAB + F + Click until you get back to your first Meepo again is also very useful, but you may set the enemy loose. It is recommended if you need to burst kill someone, what, in the majority of cases, is the better option, but you need the aid of another disabler.

Farming with BoT and Poof

It is the very same stuff Morphling does, micro clones to safe lanes and go farm a lane with your main Meepo, while farming with the clones too. Then, just poof the main Meepo to where the clones or accordingly to the situation.

You can farm full waves of creep by just standing in the middle of them and Poo'F' + TAB + Click until you did it with all your Meepos. With lvl 3 ult, the creeps die almost instantly, you get full gold out of them without problems.

Abusing Earthbind

You can use it to scout, it's the same stuff you are used to do with Terror at Vengeful Spirit, just cast it on fog to gain a small portion of the vision in the area.

When ganking with all your Meepos selected, you can use TAB to scroll around them. With TAB you can cast spells with different Meepos, so you can cast multiple Earthbinds, one after the other. Just cast it at the first Meepo (or second, leave the main one for later), attack, TAB Earthbind, attack, TAB Earthbind etc. You can sustain it for very long if you time it and cast one Earthbind each two seconds, but don't do it against blinkers or windwalkers.

II. Skill Build
Earthbind is maxed first alongside Poof. You can max whichever you like and fits the situation better.

Earthbind is good for ganking, counter-ganking and scouting. Very useful at team battles to bind heroes to their locations for as long as you can sustain your nets. Also prevent blinking and disrupt chanelling skills, provided that the hero wasn't hit by this spell already.

Poof is amazing to farm, nuke, initiate, escape and travel around the map with your clones. Priceless skill. Max it over Earthbind whenever you can abuse the nuke more than the disable, meaning that you already have a good disabler supporting you (like Rhasta) or you can use the nuke to farm faster. But usually you will find yourself in need of maxing Earthbind first so that you can avoid ganks easier by casting it at the farthest range and therefore having more time to run.

III. Gameplay
Quick and straight, in the early game you must farm. Farm as much as you can, avoid harass and farm, your base damage isn't high but your attack animation is pretty good, you can farm your core items without problems provided that your lane contributes to it (aka face an easy lane or have a good support for you).

In the mid game, you still need to farm and you can do it very fast. Micro Meepos on different lanes or different spots in the jungles, always backing up from the enemy lines. Whenever you feel you are in danger, teleport away with your Meepos using TP Scrolls, Travels or mainly Poof as this third has the shortest cooldown. Ganking is awesome, but don't spend time searching for heroes around the map because you can basically use this time to farm and you may be backstabbed while you do it. You can end the game now if you are already farmed and have a more push oriented strategy, Meepo is a great pusher, can clear out full waves of creep with ult lvl 3 and Poof.

Now, at late game, it's where you shine really. You have a shitload of DPS and your spells fully ready for battle. Have your team to push before enemy carries can outfarm you (you usually outfarm them at mid game because you can farm different locations simultaneously and with ease). That's all about it.

IV. Items
Useful Items

Capitalize out of the spells the enemies cast, well, yes. It is a cheap upgrade for the branches you will get early on, really helps you stay inlane and also it will be replenished when you go farm neutrals.

Makes you farm like mad and level up so fast that you will be level 25 in no time. All your Meepos can travel by themselves, using TP on one Meepo doesn't trigger the cooldown on the others.

Alternative to Boots of Travel, makes you and your clones more tankish, but then you'll have to carry TP scrolls around.

Amazing to face nukers, provide you with regeneration for longer farming and a very good survivality for you and your clones.

Surprise buttsecks. Help you escape and gank, also setup for ganks and team battles. It's a core item.

Useful, but rather old item. Doesn't help you on the long run that much to be considered a core item, but it's okay to rush it and you'll be a bit harder to kill with it at early game.

Good old item. Not so good if you wish to make Assault Cuirass, but helps. I wouldn't list it as a core item because you won't be using all your Meepos together to farm, so the lifesteal will be barely useful. And on team battles, we all hope that you can land your blink poof combo, so you'll already have dealt a lot of damage, don't need to go crazy melee fighting for it.
